Finished tattoo design for the Shoulder

    Hi There,

Here's the finished shoulder tattoo. Scanned and optimized.
I made some small changes in the upper shoulder, so the fill is a bit more interesting. The repeating shapes on the left side of the shoulder represent arrowheads and the maori curly shapes are called Koru or Fern.

A little history for those who want to know more about the meaning of Koru:
The koru is the Maori name given to the newborn, unfurling fern frond and symbolises new life, growth, strength and peace.
The koru is an iconic symbol of New-Zealand.
It is an integral symbol in Maori carving and tattoos.

    Regards, Mark

Final custom tattoo design

    Hi there,

I was quite busy for the last week with a few large custom tattoo pieces. One for the lower arm and a few shoulder pieces.

Here's the final image of this small drawing tutorial, as promised:

(Please don't use this image for your own tattoo, it's specially created for one of my clients)

I will post a photo of the finished tattoo as soon as I receive it.

If you have more questions on this tutorial, just let me know.

    Kind regards, Mark Storm

Final traced tattoo drawings in Maori style

    Hi,

Once a pencil sketch is completed, I trace the image with a black marker and erase all pencil stripes.
The drawings are scanned at 300 DPI and optimized in Photoshop CS3.
Here are the finalized images of the surfer tattoo design and the chest design both in Maori style.

Any questions or comments? Please let me know!

In the week ahead I will be working on 2 other custom designs, one tattoo design for the calf and a Maori chest piece.
    You'll see the sketches ASAP.

    Kind regards,

    Mark Storm
